The developers of Honda Motor Co. were cooperating with approximately 50 hospitals in Japan to amend and optimise the device. The results gained during the research of human walking and development of humanoid robot, ASIMO, helped to create two walking exoskeleton devices: one with Stride Management System and second with Bodyweight Support System.

The device is compact in size and has a small weight of about 5.95 lbs (2.7 kg). The developers tried to make it easy to use: simply worn on the waist and thighs, it helps to lift the user’s knees when walking. In addition, the device is adjustable for different sizes and types of human body. The battery of the device lasts for 60 minutes of use.
